How to make a video file smaller

Tips to get under a size limit

Use "Smallest file" for messaging apps; the quality loss is barely visible on a phone screen.
Trim the clip first — shorter videos are always smaller.
If your file is an iPhone MOV, try MOV to MP4 first: the H.264 MP4 output is often smaller and works everywhere.
